Job Summary

The Care Worker will assist with the ongoing development of the children. They will provide supervision and personal care based on the needs of the children, while abiding by provincial legislation, policies, and procedures, along with the Onion Lake Health Board Inc. Policy Manual. This is a casual position and will only be scheduled as needed.


Job Duties

  • Ensure proper discipline, guidance, and direction is provided in a fair, consistent, and logical manner within a safe atmosphere, respecting the special circumstances, rights, and dignity of each child/youth.

  • Complete daily reports and documentation; report all information to the immediate supervisor.

  • Monitor and supervise children daily.

  • Drive, coordinate, and participate in any organized trips and/or short excursions.


Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12.

  • Certificate in Early Childhood Development and/or related education in the Human Service Field.

  • Healthy lifestyle reflecting positive role modelling.

  • Experience working with infants and children.

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license; Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

  • First Aid & CPR certification is an asset.
